Nova Space EMR Theory and Space Environment Course and SWI Certificate Voucher Bundle

Thank you for your interest in the Space Environment and EMR Theory Course and Space Workforce Institute (SWI) Electromagnetic Radiation Theory Fundamentals Certificate Assessment Bundle!

Learning Plan Description

Thank you for your interest in the Space Environment and EMR Theory Course and Space Workforce Institute (SWI) Electromagnetic Radiation Theory Fundamentals Certificate Assessment Bundle! Of note, this course covers the material for both the SWI EMR Certificate and the SWI Space Environment Certificate. This bundle only includes a voucher for one of the two certificates.

In Nova Space’s Space Environment and Electromagnetic Radiation Theory Course, you will learn about the hostile environment of space and why it is such a difficult and complex task to design a spacecraft that can survive in such an environment. You will also learn about the characteristics of Electromagnetic waves and how they interact with matter, a concept that will help you better understand how the electromagnetic spectrum can be used to observe or collect data on a wide range of subjects.

The Electromagnetic Radiation Theory Fundamentals certificate focuses on the fundamental principles of electromagnetic radiation, covering topics such as the electromagnetic spectrum, wave properties, and various applications across industries. Participants will demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of EMR’s characteristics and its practical uses.

The Space Environment certificate examines the various factors that constitute the space environment. Understanding these elements is crucial for designing spacecraft and planning missions that can withstand the harsh conditions of space.

Course Objective

Terminal Learning Objectives

Terminal Learning Objective (TLO): A TLO is the statement of the expectations of participant performance at the end of a learning module or at the end of the course.

TLO 1: Describe the boundaries of space.
TLO 2: Describe the main components of the Sun’s structure.
TLO 3: Describe the primary outputs from the sun that dominate the Space Environment.
TLO 4: Describe the major hazards of the space environment and their effect on spacecraft and people.
TLO 5: Demonstrate the ability to discuss and apply the fundamentals of Electromagnetic Radiation theory.
TLO 6: Demonstrate the ability to express relationships between the characteristics of an Electromagnetic wave.
TLO 7: Demonstrate the ability to discuss Electromagnetic wave propagation in relationship to Space Operations.
TLO 8: Describe the effects of interactions between Electromagnetic radiation and matter.
TLO 9: Describe how to apply and consider Electromagnetic radiation theory when designing space architectures
