Welcome to Nova Space’s Introduction to Orbits Course. In this course, you will learn the basics behind the physics of how objects are placed into orbits and what causes them to remain in orbit. You will also learn about the various orbital regimes that are commonly used by spacecraft. With this knowledge, you will be able to communicate effectively on a variety of teams across the space industry.

• TLO 1: Apply understanding of basic orbital parameters and common orbit types to constellation architecture and mission design
• TLO 2: Demonstrate the ability to utilize the Classic Orbital Elements (COE) in discussing or calculating basic orbital parameters.
• TLO 3: Discuss trade-offs of various orbit types and common mission sets when working with a cross-functional team.
• TLO 4: Demonstrate understanding of maneuvering between orbits.
• TLO 5: Demonstrate understanding of Fundamental Laws of Physics that govern space flight.
